Stage II Fire Restrictions issued
Stage II fire restrictions will go into effect in Northwest Montana Monday, July 30.The Kootenai Forest officials' report nine additional fires on the forest. Initial attack crews and other resources have been dispatched to the fires and more resources are being ordered. All fires are reported to be small at this time.

Stage I fire restrictions issued in NW Montana
Fire managers for local land management agencies, including the Flathead and Kootenai National Forests, Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation, Glacier National Park, and Flathead, Lincoln, Lake and Sanders Counties implemented Stage I Fire Restrictions in Northwest Montana on Monday, July 23. This includes the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex (Bob Marshall, Scapegoat and Great Bear Wilderness) lands on the Flathead, Lewis and Clark, Helena and Lolo National Forests.

She was born in Eureka on March 8, 1934 to Merton and Amanda Clemons Tiffany and was raised and educated there. She married Keith Reynolds and they made their home in Eureka where they raised their family; Keith preceded her in death in 1993.

Kenneth R. McElmurry, 45, of Everett, Wash., died July 12, 2007 at The Golden Leaf Adult Family Home. He was born on Sept. 11, 1961 in Libby to Roy and Ruby (Stipek) McElmurry. Ken graduated from Libby High School. He then continued his education at the University of Montana, graduating in 1984.

Erwin Leigh McLaury, 76, passed away Wednesday, July 4 in Eureka. Erwin was born March 3, 1931 in Colville, Wash., to Erwin and Zada (Black) McLaury. He spent his first years in a mining camp, where his father was employed and when he was seven the family moved to Paradise Valley near Bonners Ferry, Idaho where he attended school.
