Lester Lewis "Les" Skramstad, 70, a longtime resident of the Kootenai Valley, died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, at his home in Libby following a long battle with mesothelioma.
Sandra Ann Gilstrap, 49, of Dillon, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at Barrett Hospital and Healthcare.
Barbara Elaine Walsh, 76, of Tacoma, Wash., died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, following complications after surgery.
Libby School Board member Melanie Wood had a legitimate question for Kalispell developer Bryan Scott on Monday.
Gerard "Dard" Wayland-Smith Jr., 72, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at his home in Libby following an extended illness.
Mining company gets go-ahead for exploration
It's disappointing to hear that ConoverBond is no longer interested in renovating the old high school building in downtown Libby, but it doesn't come as a big surprise.

William O. Shirley III, 66, of Libby died Thursday Jan. 4, 2007, from injuries he suffered in a fall on Dec. 23.
An environmental group filed suit Monday in Helena District Court against the Montana Department of Environmental Quality and Revett Minerals, alleging failure to enforce and implement provisions of the Metal Mine Reclamation Act for the Troy Mine.
