Why go back in time and retrace the footsteps of America's ancestors, from the clothing they wore to the guns they used? Recently, a couple of local modern day mountain men tried to explain why.

Peggy Lee, 83, of Libby died Monday, Dec. 24, 2007 at her home in Libby from natural causes. She was born Dec. 12, 1924 in St. Maries, Idaho to David and Emma Reneck May. Peggy's dad was in the military and consequently as a child she lived in numerous places thoughout the country.
Deputy state medical examiner speaks to LHS
Gene Reckin, a science instructor at Libby High School, invited Dr. Walter Kemp, (known as Willy) to speak to his students about his work at the state crime lab in Missoula. Kemp is the deputy state medical examiner and Reckin introduced him as, "the real-deal CSI."

Ronald Phillip Cartwright passed away at his home in Seattle on Dec. 18, 2007. Ron was born to Meg and Doehler Cartwright and presented to his sister Dorothy and brother Doehler Jr. Cartwright on May 28, 1947.

The Bigfork High School girls' basketball team had an 11-point lead against Libby in an explosive first quarter opener for the two Northwestern A teams. Although Libby always kept the pressure on, coming within 8 points of Bigfork with 3:43 left in the game, Bigfork's defense kept the Loggers at bay, winning 50-35.
