Stakeholders bring conservation and harvest together
I grew up the son of a logger in the timber industry. Since I was 12 years old, I would be out there working, first with a branding hammer and paint, all the way up to running the processor. During those years, I saw the two factions at war: conservation vs. harvest, and knew that neither side could afford to look beyond their own agenda for fear of losing too much ground and never being able to recover. But things are very different now.

Liberals are going through the 'terrible twos'
So what did you expect from the liberals after Trump was elected? Did you think they would act like good sports and, while not affirming the President’s agenda, they would be deferential to the will of the citizens of the U.S. allowing the President to go forward on his agenda with some sort of courtesy and respect? Not a chance! The “swamp” has too much money, power and control inside of it and the “swamp critters” who have feasted there for decades will not give up their comfy confines easily. Their “temper tantrums” will pass but not before they do unending damage to their own political party and our nation in general.

Fed up with lack of compensation for ARD
We are former residents of Libby, we spent 10 years there. Like with most folks there Jeff was diagnosed with an ARD, we have been going through the legal process to get some relief for this condition, we were wondering how everyone else feels about the dollar amounts being offered. With me I was pulled from work in March of 2016, I had to forfeit my CDL due to being on oxygen during any phisycal activity. I don’t know about the rest of you but when this condition gets you, you would think that the companies we worked for would give a damn about us, but as we are learning our lives aren’t worth much.

Bits of Montana wisdom Part one
With winter gripping Montana, let us point out that the national record for cold in the lower 48 states – 70 degrees below zero – was documented right here in Montana at 2 a.m. on Jan. 20, 1954, on the west side of Roger’s Pass near Helena. It’s also worthwhile to mention that the chilliest time of any day is just prior to sunrise, so there’s a good chance that by 6 a.m. it was significantly colder, but minus 70 was the thermometer’s lowest mark. So we were close to and may have even have tied the U.S. national record of negative 80 established at Fort Yukon in Alaska.
