Dewey L. Counts

| February 22, 2017 2:25 PM

Dewey L. Counts passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on Monday, Feb. 13, 2017. He was born July 30, 1936.

Dewey loved hiking and climbing mountains more than any other recreation. He also loved fishing, camping, playing pinochle, putting puzzles together and building things such as a doghouse for Rex and mastering the art of making picture frames. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He had a big heart for people and for those who knew him they would say he was the biggest cat lover in the world.

Dewey always had a great story to tell about his many life’s adventures which he often shared with a lot of humor and laughter. His smile, his contagious laugh and his sense of humor will be immensely missed.

Dewey was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on March 23, 1974. He loved God’s Word and his favorite scripture was John 3:16. We look forward to the fulfillment of God’s promises when Dewey will be resurrected to a paradise on earth in a youthful body where no mountain will be too big for him to climb. (Job 33:25; Psalms 37:11, 29; Isaiah 35:5, 6; Isaiah 33:24 and Luke 23:43)

He leaves behind his loving wife and best friend Mabel Counts of 50 years; four children, Christopher Counts, Archie Counts, Charlene Hanson and Carollene Eells; 6 grandchildren, Robert, Natasha, Kristen, Megan, Tonya and Jacob; one great granddaughter, Arianna; four siblings, Doris, Bonnie, Peggy, and Dale, his beloved dog Rex of 21 years and his stray cat, Kitty.
