Porterville College has laid the foundation for a long list of dignitaries and the latest three people to be honored at PC’s Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet on Saturday at River Island all acknowledged the same thing. PC laid the foundation for them as well.

BROWNING, Mont. (AP) — The Blackfeet Nation honored Chief Earl Old Person with a weeklong memorial, ending with a funeral service Friday in the Browning High School gym.

Edmund Scheffler, 93, of Troy
Edmund (Ed) Burton Scheffler, 93, of Troy died May 2, 2014, of natural causes in Spokane, Wash. He was born December 9, 1920, in the Bull River Ranger Station near Noxon, to Clyde and Myrtle Gill Scheffler. He grew up in Noxon and graduated from Noxon High School. He worked various jobs including logging, railroad and firefighting until he enlisted in the Navy following the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was sent to serve his country in the Aleutian Islands on the U.S.S. Coghlan. He was very proud of having fought in the battle of the Komandorskis.
