Community Prayer Group
The Community Prayer Group will meet Thursday, Feb. 28, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the upstairs community room at First Montana Bank, 504 Mineral Ave., Libby. The topic of the prayer focus for February is Sanctity of Human Life. There will also be time for prayers for our Nation and transformational revival in our community. The Prayer Group is an interdenominational gathering of Christians who meet the second and fourth Thursdays every month. Awakening Prayer is the first Saturday of each month at Kootenai Valley Christian School at 1024 Montana Avenue from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Join us March 2 for this upcoming meeting. Meeting over ungulate predation
The sportsmen’s meeting held in Kalispell Jan. 30 drew 400-plus attendees. We would like to thank the area sportsmen and women, the Foundation for Wildlife Management, Montana Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Montana Fish Wildlife & Parks for being there. It was a very passionate, concerned crowd who were frustrated with the ungulate population counts in Region 1, located in Northwestern Montana.

Joan Countryman Basham, 82, mom, grandma, great-grandma and friend left us to go home with God, February 4, 2019. She was born in Daisy, Washington on July 10, 1936. Her family moved to Troy when she was 13. She was the fourth of twelve children and attended Troy Schools until she married Robert D. Basham on Dec. 8, 1952.

Ronald Dewet Parker, Sr., 73, passed away Dec. 21, 2018. On Feb. 1, 1944, Ron was born to Hope Gwendolyn Ritzman and George Dewey Weehunt in Prosser, Washington, during the Manhattan Project. The eldest of eight children, he was raised in Libby and finished school at eighth grade to pursue mechanics.

Danny Harold Ball passed away surrounded by loved ones at the age of 63 in his home in Libby on Sunday morning, Jan. 27, 2019. He was born to Geneva Ball and Francis Ball on Nov. 9, 1955. He was married to Rebecca Ball and the father of four boys.

Jeannine Lee Boyd, 89, died on Friday, January 25, 2019, at Libby Care Center. She was born on March 15, 1929 at Logan, Iowa to Louis and Ecil Gash. She attended schools in Logan, and graduated from Logan Magnolia High School in 1947.
