The Kootenai Heritage Council is partnering with the Irish Fair Committee for a Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day celebration rolled into one.

On Thursday at the Libby Memorial Events Center, the evening will kick off with dinner at 6 p.m., featuring Butte pasties for only $10. The pre-show entertainment will feature local Irish dancers. In addition to all of this, the No Host bar will offer beer, wine and soda beverages to the patrons.

The main event will commence at 7 p.m., with the return of Men of Worth, who have performed for Libby audiences numerous times in past years.

Scotsman Donnie Macdonald and Irishman James Keigher came together in 1986 to perform Irish and Scottish folk music, combining traditional and contemporary styles. The name “Men of Worth” was chosen from the title of a folk song written by the Scottish singer/songwriter Archie Fisher.

Men of Worth blend their voices in a collection of songs with their varied selection of instruments. They have a very simple approach to their presentation — in keeping with tradition, remaining true to the music and story. Their show is a unique combination of humor, exciting tunes, and soulful, heartfelt ballads. Both men claim their influences range from The Chieftains to Keith Richards.

Performing concerts and festivals, with 12 albums to their credit; Men of Worth continue the tradition from which they’ve evolved.

In addition to the evening concert, Macdonald and Keigher will work with local young musicians through the Kootenai Heritage Council’s Outreach Program in cooperation with the Libby Public Schools.

Tickets are $10 at the door or $8 if purchased presale at Cabinet Books, the Libby Area Chamber of Commerce, Homesteaders Farm and Ranch, Rivermist, The Western News, Mountain Meadows or Rocky Mountain Music.

Tickets can also be bought in Troy at Booze ‘n Bait.

Students are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult. Season Series Pass holders can use their tickets for this event. It will be the next-to-last performance for the 2018-2019 season.
