LHS celebrates homecoming week
It is homecoming week at Libby High School. Festivities began with Mustache Monday. Students were prompted with the homonymic instruction: “We mustache you to wear a mustache.”

Libby School District Board members on Wednesday agreed to offer a contract to Libby High School Principal candidate Ruth Ann VanWorth-Rogers, the former Bakersfield, Calif., administrator.

One wreck claims two vehicles in separate locations
Two cars were wrecked at separate locations in Libby Monday afternoon in an incident beginning at the corner of 10th Street and Mineral Avenue and ending at the old Libby High School on Mineral and Lincoln Boulevard.
Nicholas D. Ferguson, 90
Nicholas D. Ferguson, 90, of Libby, passed away Monday, Aug. 19, 2019 of natural causes at his home in Libby. He was born Jan. 27, 1929 in a country farm home two miles north of Oregon, MO, the third surviving child of John and Ina (Field) Ferguson. A couple years later his brother, Jerry, joined the family and they grew up in a two-story home with a wood burning stove in the front room. Nick walked one mile to the old country grade school, sometimes clamping on ice skates and skating across the fields to school.

Girls Basketball: Lady Loggers win by 30
The Libby High School girls basketball team took care of Class B Eureka in a nonconference meeting Saturday evening, 52-22.

It's becoming clear that the upcoming school election ballot question on whether to sell the old Libby High School or tear down the old Libby High School will not be the end of discussion on an issue that has dragged on too long.

Cpl. Raleigh Clinton Smith, U.S. Marine Corps, was born on Dec. 7, 1983, at Libby and was raised and educated at Troy, graduating from Troy High School with the Class of 2002.
Girls Tennis: Eureka, Mission down Lady Trojans
The Eureka High School girls tennis team handed Troy a 6-0 loss in the Lady Trojans’ season-opener on Friday.
Boys Basketball: Libby downs Anaconda, falls to Hamilton
The Libby High School boys basketball team dropped Anaconda in its opener on Friday but then fell to Hamilton on Saturday in the Tip-Off Tournament at Ronan and Polson.
