Boys Basketball: Libby downs Anaconda, falls to Hamilton

The Libby High School boys basketball team dropped Anaconda in its opener on Friday but then fell to Hamilton on Saturday in the Tip-Off Tournament at Ronan and Polson.

On Friday, the Loggers started to pull away in the second quarter en route to a 46-37 win. Over those eight minutes, Libby outscored the opponent, 15-6. The two teams played even in the second half as LHS opened the season with a nine-point win.

Alex Cislo and Kelly May scored 19 and 11 points, respectively. Kyle Moore dropped 20 for Anaconda.

Hamilton downed the Loggers on Saturday, 58-45, in the Polson gymnasium. Hamilton led 26-20 at halftime but then got out to a 22-point lead by the end of the third quarter.

Libby attempted to rally in the fourth and finished the game with a 16-7 quarter.

Colton Cannon led LHS with 11 points and James Hare added 10.

Libby was scheduled tho host Glacier on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The Loggers’ next varsity game is set for Saturday at Flathead in Kalispell.
