Libby's conference leading rusher puts team on his back
Announcing Libby Loggers football games this year is a predictable endeavor. With the passing game aching from the absence of graduated All-State quarterback Jared Winslow, the Loggers are a committed ground team. Reminiscent of the era when offenses were pleased with three yards and a cloud of dust, the Loggers run game repeatedly rams the ball right into the teeth of the opposing defense.

The Libby High School boys basketball team had a rough time finding the basket in a 65-24 loss to Kalispell Glacier on Tuesday night.

Any students that graduated from Troy High School before 2009 should contact Christina Schertel if they would like a copy of their Special Education Records. The district is responsible for keeping records for up to eight years after a student graduates or leaves the district. Records will only be released to individuals whose names are on the file or their parents. All other records older than 10 years will be destroyed on July 1, 2019. Greenchain finish third at tournament
The Libby Greenchain grapplers had an impressive showing Saturday at the Superior Invitational. Behind title-winning days for Zach Crace at 138 pounds and Josh Bowers at 170 pounds, the team placed third out of 12 teams.

Troy's Leighty medals, Pierce beats personal record at state
Troy senior Hunter Leighty was the only placer for the Troy High School track and field team at the State Class B Track Meet last weekend, but it was a good day for junior Ella Pierce as well.

The Libby Children’s Select Choir raised about $4,300 at a dinner and auction held Friday night to benefit its upcoming trip to a competition in Idaho.

Buck D. Kidder
Buck D. Kidder, 64, of Troy died Tuesday, July 24, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center from natural causes. Buck was born Oct. 21, 1953, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to Lloyd and Ella (Widner) Kidder. At the age of 17, Buck enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, one month before he was drafted so that he could choose his branch of service. Shortly after his enlistment he earned his GED and was given an honorary diploma from Troy High School. Buck served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force as a 7 Level Jet Engine Mechanic. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he worked for Chapel Cedar and trail maintenance for the U.S. Forest Service. Buck co-owned No Kidding Auto and later would work for World Wide Machine Pipeline division, where he was trained as a padder operator.

Troy places three in top ten at divisional
The Troy High School track and field team took five athletes to the Western B and C Divisional May 16, and three of them placed in the top ten in their events.
