The Troy High School softball team rallied from a four-run deficit only to see Eureka regain its composure and hang on late, 10-8, in a Western B-C game on Monday.

The Lions scored four runs on three hits and one Troy error over the first and second innings to build the 8-4 advantage. The Lady Trojans came alive at that point, however, and allowed only two more Eureka hits the rest of the game.

In the meantime, Troy got to within 8-7 with a three-spot in the fourth while Alicia Anderson and the defense put up goose eggs in three straight innings to keep things close.

Eureka pushed across two runs in the sixth for a 10-7 lead. Troy came back with a run in the seventh to account for the final score.

Alyssa Olds and Ashley Paasch led Troy offensively by each going 2-for-4 at the plate. Other top contributors included Megan Cummings (1-for-3, double, run) and Dolly Blata (1-for-2, double, 2 runs, RBI). Kimmy Klin, Michelle Pillans, Ann Hines, Stacy Reid and Olds also scored runs. Other ribbies were collected by Paasch and Anderson.

On the mound, Anderson allowed five hits and three walks while striking out three.

The Lady Trojans (3-8) are scheduled to host Mission on Friday at 4 p.m.
