Ronald S. Toczek
Ronald S. Toczek, 82, died Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Libby Care Center. He was born on December 31, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Stanley and Julia (Tokarz) Toczek. He attended schools in Chicago, and graduated from St. Rita High School in 1952. He graduated with a BA of Mathematics from the University of Chicago in 1957, and received his MA from the University of Utah in 1959.

Boyd E. Nelson
Boyd E. Nelson, 84, of Libby, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at the Libby Care Center of cancer. He was born July 15, 1934, in Crow Agency to Frank and Naomi (Kephart) Nelson. In 1952, following high school, Boyd joined the United States Marine Corp. He went to Field Radio School and was then sent to Korea for a year. He served as a Sergeant-Field Radio Operator from February 1952 to February 1955.

Roger Mahlon Kensler passed away of natural causes on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at the Libby Care Center.

Joseph G. Arts
Joseph G. Arts, 71, died on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at his home in Troy of natural causes. He was born at an early age in St. John’s Hospital in Helena on Dec. 18, 1946. He stayed there for three months doing what babies do best until he was adopted by his parents Dr. Joseph B. and Bernece Arts. His sister Susan was adopted two years later. This was one of the best things that ever happened to him.

James Carlton Chance, 86, of Libby
James Carlton Chance, 86, died Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Libby Care Center. He was born Nov. 5, 1927 at Marcus Hook, Penn., to Joseph Edward and Hilda Chance. He was raised and educated in Philadelphia, and graduated from high school there.

Lloyd Stricklin, 90
Lloyd Stricklin, 90, beloved husband of Beulah, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center in Libby. He was born in Los Angeles, Calif., on Oct. 28, 1923, to Lloyd W. and Minnie Violet (Craig) Stricklin. He grew up and attended school there, and graduated from David Starr Jordan High in June of 1942.

Grandparents honored at Kootenai Valley Christian School
Friday, Sept. 14 marked the 24th year that grandparents day has been celebrated. Although President Carter declared the first Sunday after Labor Day as National Grandparent Day in 1978, the state of West Virginia actually began celebrating the day in 1973. September was chosen for the holiday to signify the "autumn years" of life.
