The Troy High School boys basketball team survived struggles at the free-throw line to hang on for a 57-55 victory over Eureka on Friday night.

Don Bivins, 71, died Wednesday, Oct. 3 at his home in Libby. Don and his late wife Mary came to Libby in 1964 where Don taught in the Libby Public School system for over 30 years until his retirement in 1996.

Libby Softball shuts out Eureka, 14-0

The Libby High School softball team beat Lincoln County High School 14-0 on Tuesday at Eureka, without a single Lady Lion getting a hit against senior pitcher Khalyn Hageness, and no Eureka player making it past first base.

Boys Tennis: Trojans play to 3-3 tie in opener

The Troy High School boys tennis team opened the season on Saturday at home against Mission and played to a 3-3 tie.

Von Lester Riddle, 78, of Dickinson passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at his home, with his wife by his side. A funeral service for Von was held 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, with Pastor Janel Kolar officiating. Burial followed at Pioneer Cemetery in Taylor, North Dakota.

A competitive friendship on the pitch

Libby High sophomores Isaiah Sickler and Johnny Davidson are two members of the school soccer team’s rising young core. Precocious leaders on and off the field, the duo share a lifelong, competitive relationship that landed both young men spots on the local club team, the Kootenai Rapids, and, most recently, the Montana Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program.

Daniel Roger Schnetter, 65, a longtime resident of Libby, passed away on Dec. 5, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

Earl Eugene Chase, 82, died on June 7, 2005, at his ranch home in Troy.

Ken Doxtater, 71, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at the North Valley Hospital in Whitefish. He was born May 8, 1936, in Whitefish to Leonard and Louise Doxtater.
