NOTICE Whereas, the Board of Pardons and Parole has officially received an application for Executive Clemency concerning David Cox, convicted of the crime of burglary in Libby, Montana, in the county of Lincoln, State of Montana, and on October 12, 1982 received a term of 4 years with 1 year and 270 days ss. Therefore, be it ordered that Wednesday 30, 2017 at 2:30pm be set apart for the consideration of said Executive Clemency matter; and all persons having an interest therein desiring to be heard either for or against the granting of the Executive Clemency, are hereby notified to contact the Board of Pardons and Parole, 1002 Hollenbeck Road, Deer Lodge, Montana 59722, phone (406)846-1404 within 10 days of the date of said hearing, to be present at 2:30 pm at the Board of Pardons & Parole office at 1002 Hollenbeck Road, Deer Lodge. NATIONAL FOREST TIMBER SALE KOOTENAI NATIONAL FOREST. The WEST SURPRISE DxP TIMBER SALE includes an estimated 97,229 TONS of WL & Other Sawlog timber (equivalent to 31,910 CCF) designated for removal located within portions of Sections 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 26, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, T29N, R27W; Sections 6, 18, T28N, R27W; Sections 1, 2, 3, 11, 12, 13, 24, T28N R27.5W; Sections 25, 35, 36, T29N, R28N; PMM, Lincoln County, State of Montana. In addition, there is within the sale area an estimated volume of 21,576 tons (equivalent to 9,791 CCF) of Combined Softwood Non-saw timber that is advertised at a fixed rate. This is a WEIGHT MEASUREMENT sale and all rates will be bid and paid for at a rate per TON. Sealed bids will be opened in public atthe Supervisor's Office, Libby, MT at 10:00 AM, local time, on February, 12th 2020, followed immediatedly by ORAL AUCTION. REQUEST FOR COMMENTS RIPLEY PROJECT LIBBY RANGER DISTRICT KOOTENAI NATIONAL FOREST The Libby Ranger District of the Kootenai National Forest has developed a proposed action for the Ripley project. The project area, in general, is located east of Libby, Montana and Highway 2 and south of the Kootenai River to the McMillan drainage. The proposal includes vegetation management treatments, some treatment within dry site old growth, permanent and temporary road construction, system road reconstruction, road storage and decommissioning, non-motorized and motorized trail development, firewood gathering opportunities, and connected activities such as reforestation and spraying for noxious weeds. The proposed action includes regeneration harvest which would create openings that exceed 40 acres in size. The proposed action is available online at: https://www.fs.usda.gov/projects/kootenai/landmanagement/projects. Scroll down to Kootenai National Forest Current and Recent Projects, Developing Proposal, and select Ripley. The letter notifying of the opportunity to comment provides detailed information about how to provide comments.
