John Kratofil
John L. Kratofil, 70, of Libby passed away on March 3, 2015, after a 40-year battle with multiple sclerosis at the Libby Care Center. John was born on Oct. 2, 1944, to John A. (Biff) Kratofil and Mary (Yelenich) Kratofil in Butte. He grew up in Butte and always carried a sense of pride for his hometown. He studied engineering at The School of Mines in Butte, later transferring to Western Montana College in Dillon and received a bachelor’s degree in education.
Greenchain takes third in divisionals
After a weekend of hard-fought battles, the Greenchain came in third-place overall at the Western Class A Divisional wrestling tournament.

Kristine J. Noble
Kristine J. Noble, 57, of Libby passed away Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at her home in Libby of natural causes. She was born Feb. 25, 1957, in Wichita, Kan., to Francis and Norma (Hammon) Smith. Kris grew up in Kansas and attended school there. On Dec. 5, 1987, she married Ken Noble. Kris was a loving housewife and mother. She enjoyed the outdoors. Kris loved riding horses, camping and fishing. She also enjoyed collecting coins and McDonald’s Happy Meal toys. In 2002, Kris moved to Libby and bought a place out on Swamp Creek. She was preceded in death by her husband Ken Noble.

Wrestling: Leir, Sweedman take 2nd at state
Kyle Leir and Kyle Sweedman each advanced into the championship matches in their respective weight classes at the Class A State Wrestling Tournament on Saturday in Billings. Both Leir and Sweedman came up short in their finales, however, and had to settle for runner-up.
