At the annual CARD Rally on Nov. 2, the CARD Clinic’s Dr. Brad Black explains to two young visitors how x-rays work and shows the difference between a normal x-ray and an x-ray of someone with asbestos related disease. “Each year we put on a community event to help educate about Libby Amphibole Asbestos and the health effects,” Dusti L. Thompson, CARD Outreach Specialist, said via email. “We make it family friendly and fun by having participants work through interactive stations, each simulating an obstacle that people with ARD may encounter. This was the eighth year of hosting the event and we had 175 children come through in 2 hours (and a) total of 325 people.” (Courtesy photo)
