Thousand attend Troy Fourth celebration
U.S. Highway 2 in Troy was lined with thousands of parade-goers Thursday as the weather cooperated, and the multitudes got to enjoy America’s 237th birthday party. The festive day was not without a note of solemnity as local firefighters commemorated all firefighters who had given their lives in the line of duty. However, this Fourth was especially painful with the death of 19 elite firefighters earlier this week. On this float, firefighters commemorated the fallen, and particularly this year with the Arizona state flag. At right, Kit Branch is decked out in red, white and blue and so is her steed, Bugsy. The Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration included a presentation of Snow White at the Lincoln Theatre, a car show, fireworks, various craft, food, and other booths at Roosevelt Park.
