Libby CARD Clinic officials are fighting back against railroad giant BNSF’s effort to seize its assets and shutter operations.

The federal government joined CARD’s effort to keep its doors open, serving the patients who have grown to rely on its treatment and support for 25 years.

Wednesday, May 7, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office served a Writ of Execution on the Center for Asbestos Related Disease, Inc. for $3.1 million to satisfy a judgment against the clinic. The judgment stems from a lawsuit won in 2023 by Texas-based BNSF, owned by billionaire Warren Buffett, that accused the clinic of filing hundreds of fraudulent claims over several years.
