The Troy High School softball teams’ special season continued Saturday as Lady Trojans rallied to beat Thompson Falls, 16-6, in five innings.

It was the second time in three days that Troy (13-3) shrugged off a five-run deficit to score a win.

TFalls loaded the bases in the first inning, but Troy pitcher Halle Wallace got a strikeout and a popup to end the threat.

Leslie Gravier had a home run stolen from her in the bottom of the frame on a great catch in deep left-center field.

The Lady Hawks sent nine batters to the plate and scored five runs in the second. Sarah Koskela’s 2-run single was the big hit of the frame.

The Lady Trojans used some two-out lightning to draw within one run in the bottom of the second. Ellie Borgman singled, stole second and scored on a single by Autumn Fisher after Halle Wallace walked. Ellah Wallace followed with a 2-run double and an infield hit by Gravier made it 5-4.

TFalls had a chance to score in the third, but Troy made a number of good defensive plays to keep the deficit at one run.

The Lady Trojans then exploded for 11 runs in the bottom of the third for a 15-5 lead.

Jellesed led off with a double, then Kylie Cole lined a shot to center, but the harsh, afternoon sun gave the centerfielder trouble and she dropped the ball. But the Lady Falcons nearly got out of the jam as the next two Troy batters made outs.

Halle Wallace then grounded to short and error allowed Jellesed to tie the game at 5-5. The miscue opened the floodgates as Troy scored 10 runs.

Autumn Fisher’s shot to deep right scored two runs, then Ellah Wallace singled to score Fisher. Gravier reached on an infield single and Addison Fisher singled to make it 9-5. Jellesed’s hustle on a ground ball gave her a hit to load the bases.

Cole then launched a pitch over the fence in dead center and the grand slam made it 13-5. She was mobbed by her teammates at home plate. Troy added two more runs to make it 15-5.

After the Lady Falcons scored once in the fourth to make it 15-6, Troy didn’t score in the bottom half.

In the fifth, Halle Wallace struck out three of the five batters she faced. One strikeout was courtesy of catcher Cole holding onto a foul tip.

Ellah Wallace’s two-out single scored the 16th run and invoked the 10-run rule.

Troy wraps up the regular season this week, playing at Eureka Tuesday and hosting Ennis Saturday for Senior Day festivities.
