It’s true that a community working together is much better than one operating individually.

The Troy VFW Auxiliary 5514’s efforts to help their veteran neighbors and install the value of volunteerism into young people is a perfect example.

Auxiliary President Deanna Nelson began a program for Libby and Troy veterans that needed some help in getting yard work done.

While winter conditions made it hard to get things done, spring is here and the Auxiliary wants local veterans to know they can get help.

“Now that the weather will be warming up, we are asking veterans in need of yard work such as mowing, weed eating, leaf raking, removing fallen tree branches, to contact an auxiliary member so we can try to get a group to our place to help,” Auxiliary President Deanna Nelson said.

The Auxiliary’s volunteers include young people, “Junior Patriots,” who are pitching in. They include Junior and Wyatt Nelson as well as Ziva and Madison Nelson.

“We appreciate the help of our hard-working members and Junior Patriots for their dedication to our local veterans and their families,” Nelson said.

Those seeking help are asked to contact Nelson at 406-291-9063.
