| March 11, 2025 7:00 AM

Charles Neisess, 84, passed away from this life peacefully on March 1, 2025, after a courageous two-year battle against cancer.

Chuck was born in Campbell, Minnesota on Nov. 3, 1941, to Joseph and Sophie Neisess. He grew up in Butte, Montana where he loved camping, hunting and fishing with his family.

After starting work in road construction, he then moved to Troy, Montana to work on the Libby Dam as the youngest mechanic on the project. Once the dam was complete, he returned to work as a heavy equipment mechanic on major highway projects throughout the western states.

Chuck stayed in Troy, where he built a log home and eventually retired in 2002. Chuck loved collecting, working on, driving, racing and talking about cars. He enjoyed woodworking projects and spent hours on building lamps and gifts for others.

Chuck loved dancing to rock and roll and country music. He met and fell in love with Luana on the dance floor 45 years ago. Chuck and Luana were active members at church, Good Sam, the Troy cruisers Car Club and the Senior Center.

Chuck leaves behind his wife Luana and children Chuck, David and Melinda.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Sophie. Chuck was an affectionate, good humored and hardworking man who touched the lives of all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
