Ian Thom went 2-3 and drove in a run for the Libby Loggers in a sweep of the Glacier Twins Wednesday.
According to the Daily Inter Lake, the Loggers claimed game one 9-4, while game two ended 6-2.
West Ammerman put the Twins (2-14) on the board first in game one with a single that brought in Nolan Amerman and Trenton DeRosa in the top of the first.
The Loggers (12-20) responded with two runs in the bottom half of the frame.
Libby seized control of the game with a four-run fifth inning, spearheaded by RBI singles from Tanner Wolfe, Brody Gilmore and a two-RBI base hit from Thom to take an 8-4 lead.
James Woody went four innings on the mound for the Loggers, allowing four runs on four hits. He struck out three. Kale Riddle threw three shutout innings in relief, fanning two.
In game two, Ammerman again put Glacier ahead in the first, this time with a sacrifice fly.
Libby responded in the second as two runs came in on an error to make it 2-1. An RBI single from Elijah Foulke grew the advantage in the third.
The Loggers added two more runs in the fourth on a Boe Miles RBI single and a wild pitch that brought Miles home, making it 5-1.
Bransen Holzer threw all seven innings for Libby, allowing two runs on five hits. He struck out four.
BIG BUCKS TOURNAMENT
Loggers 7, Moscow 2
Tanner Wolfe had three hits and four runs batted in, and James Woody and Kale Riddle stymied the Moscow bats as the Libby Loggers beat the Blue Devils 7-2 at the Big Bucks Tournament Thursday.
Rose and Bransen Holzer hit doubles in the first inning for Libby (9-18), both coming in on Wolfe’s single.
The Loggers scored three more runs in the second thanks to Rose’s single, two hit batters and another two-run single from Wolfe. Boe Miles and Holzer hit sacrifice flies in the sixth. Holzer’s brought in Aidan Rose with his third run. Rose had three hits.
Wood went four innings, allowing three hits, five walks and one run. He fanned seven. Riddle allowed three hits, a walk and a run. He struck out one.
Connor Zollinger had an RBI double in the seventh for Moscow. Nathan Poler drove in the other run for the Idaho squad, with a bases-loaded walk in the third.
Bitterroot 9, Libby 3, 11 innings
Both teams squandered bases loaded situations in extra innings Friday as a ground out in the top of the ninth for the Bucs and a strikeout for Libby in the 10th ended the threats.
Bitterroot (4-9) finally broke the deadlock in the top of the 11th with three bases-loaded walks giving the Bucs a 6-3 lead. A two-run single from Cole Germane brought home two and by the end of the inning Bitterroot led 9-3.
Libby (9-19) tried to answer in the bottom of the 11th putting two runners on with one out, but a flyout and a strikeout ended the game.
Aidan Rose went 8 2/3 innings for the Loggers, allowing eight hits and three runs. He struck out five batters. Bransen Holzer led the Loggers at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one RBI and crossing the plate once.
Mt. Spokane 14, Loggers 0
Reece Chimienti struck out 12 and allowed just one hit as the Mt. Spokane Wild downed Libby Saturday at the Big Bucks Tournament.
Libby 9, Central Alberta 4
Boe Miles pitched a complete game, allowing five hits, three earned runs with two walks and four strikeouts as the Libby Loggers defeated the Central Alberta Wolves 9-4 in the Big Bucks Tournament Sunday.
After being down 2-1 heading into the bottom half of the third inning, the Loggers (10-20) plated eight runs, highlighted by Aidan Rose’s two-run single. They capitalized on two Wolves’ errors.
Rose paced the Loggers offense out of the leadoff spot, going 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs. Tanner Wolfe reached base in all three of his at-bats, recording a double. He drew two walks and scored a run.
Bransen Holzer was a threat on the basepaths for the Loggers, stealing three bases and scoring twice. The Loggers were in motion all game, finishing with eight steals.
Friday, the Loggers are at Kootenai Valley for doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m.
