Dale A. White

| June 27, 2025 7:00 AM

Dale A. White passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 75.

Born on Jan. 15, 1950, in Rexford, Montana, to Alden and Anetta White, Dale came into the world on what was recorded as the coldest day in Montana. He spent his early years in Rexford and completed his schooling in Eureka, Montana.

Dale proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the Montana National Guard. After his military service, he dedicated himself to protecting the land he loved by fighting wildfires with the U.S. Forest Service. He later built a long and rewarding career as a logger, a profession that not only supported his family but reflected his deep connection to the woods and the Montana wilderness.

On Feb. 22, 1969, Dale married the love of his life, Cecilla, in Libby, Montana. Together, they raised four children: Dale White (Amanda), Lynn Clugston (Rod), Christie White (Craig), and Cody White (Helen). Dale was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, whose greatest joy came from time spent with family and friends.

Whether on horseback in the mountains or casting a line into a quiet lake, Dale found peace and purpose in the outdoors. Known for his ever-present smile, a strong cup of coffee and stories that could fill an evening, he was always ready to share a laugh or the best fishing tips with anyone who asked.

Dale is survived by his wife Cecilla, his sister Stella Truman, his four children, many grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness and deep appreciation for the land and people around him.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at the First Baptist Church in Eureka, followed by a celebration of life—potluck style—as Dale would have wanted, full of stories, laughter and community.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
