A 46-year-old Libby man accused of assault after throwing and striking his girlfriend with a vodka bottle pleaded guilty recently in Lincoln County District Court.

Joshua Robert Bennett pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of partner or family member assault June 16 in front of District Judge Matt Cuffe. A plea deal called for the dismissal of a felony charge of assault with a weapon.

Bennett received a one-year suspended sentence, minus one day, and received credit for time served. While he is on probation, Bennett is not allowed to consume marijuana or alcohol.
