Daniel (Boone) Wesley Tucker
Daniel Wesley Tucker, affectionately known as “Boone,” died at Cabinet Peaks Medical Center in Libby, Montana on June 4, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
Boone was born in Spokane, Washington on May 27, 1949, to Ivan L. Tucker and Annabelle P. (Tucker) Brown.
Boone was a well-known basketball and track athlete, student body president and charming graduate of Troy High School class of 1967. Dan, who retired as a Vietnam Era Veteran, served Honorably for 22 years in the Navy as a Navy Corpsmen, Physician’s Assistant and Medical Service Corp Officer.
He was recognized as a “Mustang” in the Navy which very few achieve by being Enlisted, then commissioned to Warrant Officer, and finally commissioned as an Officer and retiring as a Navy Lieutenant. Dan graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in general medicine. He later earned his Master’s in Hospital Administration from Central Michigan University.
Dan married Troy High School classmate Della Reagle in 1968 and was married for 28 years. Dan’s Navy assignments took the family to live in Japan, Philippines, Texas, California, Hawaii and multiple tours in Washington.
Dan and Della had three children, Wesley I. Tucker, Jason L. Tucker, and Cassie P.R. White. Dan was also married to Lori Stacy and was blessed with two more sons, Hunter W. Tucker and Lucas S. Tucker.
Dan spent the last years of his life with his long-time companion, Toni Solegaard. Dan enjoyed hunting, fishing, muzzleloading, black powder rendezvous and casinos. Dan’s most cherished hobbies were roaming the mountains of Northwest Montana hunting for deer and elk or fishing the creeks and rivers of Montana and Washington with his boys.
If you invited Boone over for waffles, you better make sure to include a tub of crunchy peanut butter to go with that syrup. In fact, peanuts were a staple in any of Boone’s treats like Tin Roof Sundae ice cream and Peanut Buster Parfaits.
Dan Tucker is survived by his five children: Wesley, Jason, Cassie, Hunter and Lucas; six grandchildren and three great-grandsons. He also has sisters, Jaqueline Miller (Mick) and Terry Manger (Art) and brother, Jimmy Brown and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ivan Tucker and Annabelle Brown, and brother, Johnny Brown.
Our family is comforted knowing that he is now at peace, no longer suffering and looking from above.
Arrangements are under the care of Schnackenberg Funeral Home of Libby.
A celebration of life service for Dan will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 13, graveside at Milnor Lake Cemetery, Troy, Montana, followed by a remembrance gathering at Roosevelt Park in Troy.
