May 27
A person said a neighbor was putting up “slow down” signs on his property in the 100 block of Pine Creek Lane, Eureka. The caller said he takes the signs down, but the neighbor continues to put them back up.
Someone reported a collarless brindle pit bull mix was chasing deer in the area of Manor Drive and Northwood Avenue, Libby.
A caller said one of her neighbors threatened to shoot her dog when it barked at them on Star Road, Troy.
Two free-roaming dogs were contained in a Libby resident’s yard before an officer took them to the animal shelter.
A caller on Garrison Road, Troy, said a neighbor’s dog continually charged at her. The dogs then fought, but there were no visible injuries and they were separated.
May 28
A man said he was struck in the head by a woman wielding a bat in the 100 block of Kootenai Vista Court, Libby. He said he was trying to drive and she was still inside the residence. He made it to the hospital and a woman, Amanda Reeves, was charged with assault with a weapon.
A caller said some kids broke into the Eureka High School for a prank. They were dispersed with warnings for trespassing.
Someone said multiple drivers were speeding at all times on Bobtail Cutoff Road in the vicinity of Whitetail Road, Libby.
May 29
A caller said a neighbor’s dogs have repeatedly come to his residence and attacked his chickens and ducks. One chicken was still missing.
Someone reported a person dumping a load of kittens and their mother in the cemetery in Libby. The animals were found and taken to the county shelter.
Two officers responded to Billy Bobs Way, Libby, after someone reported a woman punched another woman.
May 30
A man reported his wife, who has Alzheimer’s, left home on foot. Fortunately she was found safe and returned home safe.
Several officers responded to a report of an automobile theft on Wards Road, Libby. The caller said it was parked at the residence for several months and that it was possibly taken by his brother. The caller later reported someone else told him he had seen the vehicle in Troy. Later, an officer saw the vehicle in question, stopped it and arrested the driver.
A man said his juvenile daughter was assaulted by her boyfriend, an adult male, at a location in the 1800 block of Pomeroy Trail, Eureka. Cody McDaniel was later arrested and charged with partner or family member assault.
A parent residing in the 300 block of Harmony Lane, Fortine, called to report his daughter is out of control and on juvenile probation.
May 31
Several first responders, including the Eureka Volunteer Fire Department, answered a call about a vehicle fire in the 200 block of Central Avenue. Crews were on the scene for about 45 minutes.
A woman said her vehicle was stolen from a parking lot in the 300 block of California Avenue, Libby. The vehicle was entered into the National Crime Information Center database.
A homeless man was reported sleeping in the smoke shack at the Lincoln County Courthouse. He then threw a bottle of urine into the trash can. When an officer checked, the man was gone.
