Libby hosting public event on government review commissions
Area citizens wanting to learn more about local government review commissions are welcome to attend a public training event.
It will be held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, June 16 at the Libby City Hall’s Ponderosa Room.
Some of the questions the training will attempt to answer is what the job of a government review commission is or is not, forms of government and what the $30,000 in city tax dollars and $60,000 in county tax dollars that were spent to form the commissions.
Dan Clark, with Montana State University’s Local Government Center, will be in Libby to explain it all and answer questions.
For those with questions, email them to city Administrator Sam Sikes at city.admin@cityoflibby.com or drop them off at city hall.
Clark will not comment on the actions of the current city or county review commissions.
The training is also via Zoom. To do so, call 253-215-8782. The ID is 4042719951 and the password is 151041.
