Paving work to begin June 5 on Farm to Market Road
The Montana Department of Transportation and partner LHC, Inc., will begin a pavement preservation project on Secondary Highway 482, commonly known as Farm to Market Road.
The project begins south of Libby, near the intersection with Farmers Flat Road and continues for approximately three miles, ending at the intersection with Hammer Cutoff Road.
Improvements will include milling the existing surface, applying a new overlay, and finishing with a seal and cover (chip seal), fog seal and new signage and pavement markings. The purpose of this project is to extend the service life of the road.
Work is scheduled to begin June 5 and continue through July, weather and other unforeseen factors permitting.
Crews will be working Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Expect flaggers, traffic lights and pilot cars guiding traffic, 10 to 15-minute delays, reduced speeds and single-lane traffic when traveling through the project area.
Drivers are asked to follow all posted signage and watch for workers.
