Troy woman perishes in traffic accident
A 70-year-old Troy woman died in a two-vehicle traffic crash last week.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol report, the woman was driving a Jeep Patriot east on U.S. 2 at 1:25 p.m. Thursday, July 10 outside of Troy when it drifted into the westbound lane and struck a GMC Sierra pickup truck.
The woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.
A 36-year-old man from Bonners Ferry, Idaho, who was driving the GMC, was not injured in the crash. He was wearing a seat belt.
Patrolman Bryce Ford’s report indicated the roads were clear and dry and that drugs, alcohol nor speed were suspected factors in the crash.
Troy Volunteer Ambulance and Troy Volunteer Fire Department assisted Montana Highway Patrol at the scene.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene of the accident.
