Kootenai Valley Quilt Guild offers scholarship

| July 18, 2025 7:00 AM

The Kootenai Valley Quilt Guild in Libby is dedicated to contributing to the growth of the knowledge of quilting through education and collaboration.

The Guild offers regular educational opportunities to adults and children in our community and 2025 marks the 40th anniversary of the guild. In recognition of this milestone, the guild is offering an award that will reimburse one student for tuition to our beginning quilting class to be offered in September.

KVQG’s beginner’s class has been the first step in a lifetime of quilting for many of our members.

The class includes three sessions on Sept. 13, 20 and 27 at Christ Lutheran Church. Sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with doors opening at 8:30 a.m. for setup and includes all of the basic techniques to construct a pieced quilt.

In addition to tuition reimbursement, the award also includes presentation of a new sewing machine, rotary cutter and mat following completion of all of the class sessions.

The award is open to beginning quilters age 15 and older. Applications for the award are available from The Quilt Cottage at 906 Mineral Avenue and on the Kootenai Valley Quilt Guild Facebook page and must be received by Aug. 15.

The award recipient will be notified by Aug. 30. Those who wish to register for the class without applying for the award may pick up registration forms at the same locations.
