Cats welcome South Dakota State for home opener

Montana State plays at least nine of its 12 football games in daylight hours, as the Big Sky Conference released kickoff times for the 2025 football season on Wednesday. 

Montana State’s home opening Gold Rush game against perennial National Championship contender South Dakota State begins at 6 p.m., while the team’s Oct. 25 game at Cal Poly kicks off at 6 p.m. also. Kick time for the UC Davis game on Nov. 15 has not yet been set. 

The team’s only October home game, on the 11th against Idaho State, features a 1 pm kickoff. 

MSU’s five-game road slate begins in Eugene, Oregon, when the Cats face the Oregon Ducks on August 30 at 2 p.m.  

The season opener at Oregon airs on the Big 10 Network, while one of the ESPN networks will carry the Nov. 15 home game against UC Davis. MSU’s other 10 games air on Scripps Sports and streams on ESPN+.
