Libby High School Educational Trust awards four scholarships
The Libby High School Educational Trust awarded four $1,000 each scholarships to Libby High School 2025 graduates.
Peyton Waggoner, daughter of Alicia Allison, received $1,000 to help her in her quest to earn a degree in nursing at Montana State University.
Bergen Fortner, daughter of Kevin and Jennifer Fortner, received $1,000 to be used at Montana Technological University where her goal is to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in the nursing program.
Aaron Thomas, son of Steven and Lisa Thomas received $1,000 to be used at Concordia University Irvine where he plans to become a music teacher in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod District for 10 years and then transfer to public as well as performance work.
Eric Thompson, son of Jesse Thompson received $1,000 to assist his goal of obtaining a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science and Engineering at UM Missoula.
The Libby High School Educational Trust was established in 1988 to provide scholarships for worthy students that are graduates of Libby High School and who may be in need of financial assistance to obtain additional education. Applications are available at Libby High School.
Donations to the trust are always welcomed and encouraged. Since the start of the scholarship over $69,000 in scholarships has been awarded.
Only the interest earned is used to provide scholarships so the trust will continue to benefit future Libby High School students.
Trustees of the fund are Nancy Chalgren, Jim Sullivan, Niles Nelson, Linda Buti and Juli Cooper. Anyone wanting more information or wishing to donate to the trust may contact any of the trustees.
