Audrey O’Bleness

| January 28, 2025 7:00 AM

Audrey Jay Lutz was born July 19, 1956, in Clinton, Iowa.

At 13, she was dedicated and baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She moved with her family to Libby in the spring of 1972. Here she met Tom O’Bleness, whom she married on June 1, 1974. Together, they built a life which came to include four children. Their home was a haven of love and trust.

She used opportunities throughout her life to teach her children and others about the promises found in the Bible. She was known to love a good deal and could always find a bargain. Many fondly remember her from the thrift stores or yard sales around town. She seldom bought things for herself.

Often, those bargains were used to help others. She is loved for her generosity and kindness. Audrey enjoyed hard work. In younger days this included getting firewood. She was not afraid of pitching in. She was well known as a bus driver, driving for some 30 years. She also spent time hauling logs and driving OTR with her husband.

She worked hard to keep her home clean and loved cultivating beautiful flower gardens. Her jokes and laughter added much joy to the lives of her friends and family. She was well known for her incredible sense of humor which she maintained throughout her life.

Audrey is survived by her husband Tom; their four children; Mark O’Bleness (Wife: Anita O’Bleness), Alisha Stones (Husband: Clive Stones), Byron O’Bleness (Wife: Kelly O’Bleness), Rodney O’Bleness (Wife: Ruthie O’Bleness); daughter in-law; Janel O’Bleness; nine grandchildren; Jacob O’Bleness, Maizee O’Bleness, Haydyn Stones, Dylan O’Bleness, Tucker O’Bleness, Teagan Haugen, Bailey Haugen, David Toth, Raylan O’Bleness; one great-grandchild; Arlo O’Bleness; and four siblings; Deborah Frew, Carolyn Wates, Darcy O’Bleness, and Rhonda Burling.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Terry, her parents, Jim Rebelskey and Phylis Fugate.

A memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at the Libby Memorial Center on 111 E Lincoln Blvd, Libby, Montana.
