Ode to Ye Ole' Clearcut

Many are the complaints regarding clearcuts.

Why is it some humans quickly dismiss clearcuts and blame timber industry folks for those clearcuts.

Most brook trout appear to care less and ignore clearcuts. But Yaak fish - Hooboy! - Ban tree harvests. No clearcuts. Are they ignorant or just inconsiderate of clearcuts?

Let’s look closer at the obvious reality of clearcuts. Highways, parking lots, airports - built on clearcuts. Air bases, ski resorts, tennis courts, golf courses - clearcuts.

Homes, buildings, boats and furniture count on clearcuts. 

Popsicle sticks, matches, toothpicks, pencils - credit clearcuts.

Loggers, sawmill workers, truck drivers depend on clearcuts.

Hunters, snowmobilers, berry pickers appreciate clearcuts.

Common sense and knowledge reveals the need for clearcuts.

So, hold your head high and step confidently - Ye Ole’ Clearcut.
