Greenchain wrestlers Orr, Miles claim state medals
Libby Greenchain wrestlers Riley Orr and Boe Miles both walked off the mats winners at Billings’ MetraPark as they each claimed medals Saturday at the 2025 Montana High School Association All-Class Championships.
The Greenchain scored 61 points and were 12th as a team in the 24-team field. Traditional power Laurel rolled to the team title with 247.5 points. Columbia Falls was the top team from the West, finishing eighth with 96 points. Ronan was ninth.
For Miles, he capped his season by placing fifth at 150 pounds.
Miles did it the hard way, working his way back through the consolation bracket after a loss in the quarterfinals. Miles opened with a 15-1 win over Sidney/Fairview’s Lance Allen.
He fell to Laurel’s Luke Knaub in the quarters, but earned his way to a medal with two straight pins. Miles suffered a pin in the consolation semifinals, but ended his tournament with a medical forfeit win in the fifth-place match.
Knaub ended up placing third.
At 118 pounds, Orr’s path to a fifth-place finish was the same as Miles’. He won his opener by pinning Hardin’s Landon Orthman in just 27 seconds. He lost a 9-3 decision to Miles City’s Will Merkel in the quarterfinals.
But Orr rallied with two straight pins to earn a medal. He decked Ronan’s Justus Orman-Bergman in 1:45 then pinned Corvallis’ Kahle Hill in 43 seconds.
Orr was pinned in the consolation semifinals by Lockwood’s Philip Westrick.
In Orr’s last match, he scored often on the way to an 11-1 major decision over Miles Citys’ Jonah Casterline.
