James Arnold Judkins

James Arnold Judkins, 94, passed away on Feb. 7, 2025, at his home in Libby, Montana. 

He was born on Feb. 19, 1930, in Watford City, North Dakota, to Jay and Borghild Judkins. James served in the Army from 1952-1953 and was in the Korean War. He later met Hazel M. Lester and married in 1959 in Watford City, North Dakota, but divorced in 1980. James and Hazel had five children: Danette, Doreen, Darryl, Brian and Bruce.

James worked in the oil fields as a truck driver and did seismographs. He also worked at the plywood plant as a millworker. He was involved in Eagles Club, VFW, American Legion and Lumber Mill Union.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jay and Borghild Judkins; brothers: Duane Judkins, Lessie Judkins and Charles Judkins; and sister Barbara Arthaud. 

James is survived by his children: Danette (Larry) Judkins Peil of Spring Creek, Nevada, Doreen (Jim) Judkins-Hursh of Riverton, Wyoming, Darryl (Rhonda) Judkins of Libby, Montana, Brian (Jan) Judkins of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Bruce (Vickey) Judkins of Lander, Wyoming; his brother and sisters: Jack Judkins, Elaine Laasch, and Eileen Felland; grandchildren: James, Shila, and Brianna Peil (Danette & Larry), Brittany, Blair and Brooke Hursh (Doreen & Jim), Krissy and Darrick Judkins (Darryl & Rhonda), Savannah (Brian and Jan), Paige, and Shane, Chaz, Krista and Seth Judkins (Bruce & Vickey); and 13 great grandchildren.

There will be a visitation from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2025, and a funeral service will at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at the Schnackenberg Funeral Home in Libby.
