Dorothy Ann (Tiffany) Shelley

Dorothy Ann (Tiffany) Shelley, 84, passed away on Dec. 13, 2024, at her home in Libby, Montana. 

She was born to Buster and Freda Tiffany, on Dec. 25, 1939, in Eureka, Montana. Dorothy attended school in Eureka and Libby, Montana. After school, she met Richard Shelley in Libby and they were later married on May 3, 1958, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. They were married for 47 years.

Dorothy and Richard had four children, Linda, Rick, Serena and Kevin. She was a busy mother and housewife until the kids grew up. Dorothy and Richard then shook thinks up a bit and moved to Elko, Nevada, in the 1990s, where they managed a Best Western Hotel for six years. 

After Richard became ill in 1996, they moved back to Libby. Once they moved back to Libby, Dorothy started working at the Venture Inn as a desk clerk for many years. Her last job, before retirement, was for the Libby Elementary School, where she was a “Foster Grandparent.” She thoroughly enjoyed working with the kids.

Through the years Dorothy always enjoyed bowling, playing bridge and pinochle with friends and family. She always enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting and arts and crafts. She loved to take rides up in the mountains looking for wildlife with Richard.

Dorothy loved her fur babies; Mandy, Tiffany, Josh and Willow. They were her constant companions and she loved them very much.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Shelley and sister, Betty Taylor.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Linda (Dan) DeHart, Montgomery, Texas, Rick Shelley, Missoula, Montana, Serena Wicka, Libby, Montana and Kevin (LeAnne) Shelley, Libby, Montana. Her half-brothers: Marvin, Chet and Mike Tiffany and half-sister Colleen Tiffany.

Survived also by eight grandchildren: Stacey (Chris) Caruthers of Timnath, Colorado, James (Courtney) DeHart-of Katy, Texas, Jesse Shelley of Libby, Montana, Benjamin (Marissa) Sumpter of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Wyatt Wicka of Libby, Montana, Christopher (Kristina) Sumpter of Bonners Ferry, Idaho, Justin (Ashley) Wicka of Libby, Montana, Kristen Shelley of Missoula, Montana. Also by 13 great grandchildren: Addison and Brayden Caruthers, Alexis, August, Arthur and Aaryne DeHart, Willow Shelley, Logan Sumpter, Evielyn and Abel Sumpter, Remington, Benson and River Wicka.

There will be no funeral services at this time. A memorial/burial service will be held in the spring with the date to be announced later.
