High school sports kicks off in Lincoln Co.
High school sports kicks off this weekend in Lincoln County with a handful of local teams hosting games.
On the gridiron, the Libby Loggers take on the Browning Indians at 7 p.m. at Logger Stadium. The Loggers claimed a 16-7 win in last year’s meeting.
Saturday, the Troy Trojans host Victor at 1 p.m. Troy hammered Victor, 62-20, a year ago for its lone win of the season.
In cross country, two state medal winners return for Libby as it hosts the Libby Invitational at Cabinet View Golf Course at 10 a.m. Friday.
In 2024, Capri Farmer was fourth at the Montana High School Association Class A state meet while Cody Watson was fifth in the boys race.
For the volleyball teams, Libby opens the season Friday at the Polson Tip-off tournament.
Troy’s season begins Thursday, Sept. 4, at Darby.
In soccer action, both squads head to Frenchtown Friday. The boys play at 2 p.m. followed by the girls.
