Woman faces assault, other charges following domestic incident and jail disturbance
A 49-year-old Lincoln County woman is facing charges of partner or family member assault and criminal mischief following a domestic violence report and a later disturbance at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence on June 13 after a man reported that his wife, Holly Gannon, had assaulted him and was experiencing a mental health crisis. The man told deputies he had taken Gannon to Logan Health in Whitefish for an evaluation earlier that day, but she was released after two hours.
The man said Gannon came outside while he was speaking with their adult daughter, told him to get off the phone, then grabbed his phone and hair before ripping the phone from his hand. She allegedly yelled at him and chased him off the property. The man told authorities he feared for his safety when his wife was in what he described as a “manic state.”
Deputies located Gannon, who appeared to be in the midst of a mental health crisis and was unable to provide a coherent account of the incident. She was arrested and booked on a charge of partner or family member assault.
Two days later, while jail staff were attempting to complete booking procedures, Gannon reportedly became combative. She allegedly refused to be fingerprinted, banged on windows and resisted efforts to be placed in a cell. Deputies reported she grabbed a detention officer’s arm on two occasions and had to be forcibly separated.
Once inside the cell, Gannon allegedly grabbed a wall-mounted television, pulled it down and broke it. She was subsequently charged with criminal mischief involving property damage under $1,500.
