Christopher David Swenson
Christopher David Swenson, 50, of Libby, Montana, died peacefully at home on July 27, 2025.
He was born in 1975 in Sydney, Montana to David and Barbara Swenson.
Chris graduated from Libby High School with the class of 1993. He went on to get his degree in Water and Waste Water Management. Chris had many memories working alongside his dad at Libby Auto Sales, and they shared an absolute love of classic cars. The Igniters Car Club was a big part of his life. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
Chris met the love of his life, Tina in 1998. They were married in 2003. Chris and Tina quickly made their new family a priority with Chris embracing his “bonus” kids as his own. His greatest joy was being “Papa” to his grandchildren. He loved being called Papa!
Chris cherished his many German Shepards and driving down the road with the music loud so he could sing. His giant German Shepards (Logger and Kootenai) are lost without him.
Chris is survived by his mother Barbara Swenson of Libby, Montana; father-in-law Calvin Stubbs of Libby, Montana; love of his life Tina Swenson; children Derek DeHaven (grandson Liam) of Post Falls, Idaho, Cody Good (wife Chelsea, grandson Casen) of Libby, Montana, and Sheena Lehnert (husband Jeff, grandson Blaine, granddaughter Hallie) of Libby, Montana; sister Jessica Klepfer (husband Eric, nephews Tyler and Caleb Conrad) of Spirit Lake, Idaho; sister Kara Mathews (husband Jason, nieces Hailey and Leah) of Libby, Montana; brother-in-law Paul Burnett (wife Karri, nephew Brandon) Libby, Montana; sister-in-law Heidi Lynn Barrow (husband Bill) Medford, Oregon; aunts Linda Schikora, Mary Tevebaugh and Bonnie Swenson. Chris has too many cousins and special friends to list but he had many wonderful times and memories with all of them.
Chris was preceded in death by his father David Swenson; mother-in-law Theresa Stubbs; uncles Gary Swenson and Willie Schikora; aunt Shirley Swenson; and partner-in-crime and lifelong camping buddy Greg Wood.
