The Libby Loggers girls and boys tennis teams split with Bigfork and Columbia Falls on April 17 at Bigfork.

Against Bigfork, Ryan Beagle and Alderic Martineau claimed forfeit wins while fellow singles players Isaac Lamere and Teague Thompson were each straight-set winners.

The No. 1 doubles team of Eric Thompson and Dylan Warner won a straight-set match. At No. 3, Cole Sunell and Kale Hall claimed a forfeit win.

In the girls contest, Libby had straight-set winners at No. 2 singles Marissa Hollingsworth and No. 4 Olivia Martineau. Claire Fantozzi won by forfeit at No. 3 singles.

At No. 3 doubles, Shya Huck and Augie Bailey were Logger winners.

Against CFalls, the Libby girls dropped a 5-2 decision while the boys fell, 4-3.

The Logger boys had strong play at the top of the singles ladder and resilience in doubles. Ryan Beagle got Libby rolling with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 win over Columbia Falls' Jax Ramage at No. 1 singles, followed by Alderic Martineau matching that scoreline at No. 2 against Sol Masters.

Columbia Falls responded with wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles.

The duo of Isaac Lamere and Kale Hall rallied after a narrow first-set loss to top Columbia Falls' Jack Austin and Brady Heitz 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 in No. 3 doubles action. While the Wildcat pairings of Will Pickard/Silas Ypma and Jackson Scholz/Jackson Bowler each won at the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles spots.

On the girls side, Libby ran into a deep and determined Columbia Falls lineup. The Loggers started strong in singles play, with Maggie Fantozzi defeating Bailey Windauer 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 singles and Marissa Hollingsworth cruising past Ella Heppner 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2. But Columbia Falls stormed back to take control of the match winning the No. 3 and No. 4 singles match.

In doubles, Columbia Falls swept all three matchups to seal the team win. The No. 1 duo of Alanis Petersen and Aliyah Arends outlasted Bella Meyer and Aubrey Davis in a tight 6-4, 7-5 battle.

At No. 2 doubles, Lucie Love and Campbell LaCasse edged out Libby's Jill Stewart and Rylee Delmos in a back-and-forth 6-3, 4-6, (10-4) match. The Wildcat No. 3 pairing of Ava Scholz and Kristina Tamburelli then wrapped up the day with a decisive 6-0, 6-2 win over Shya Huck and Augie Bailey.

Libby will host its annual invitational Friday and Saturday. Action begins at 1 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

It begins a run of home matches for the Loggers that culminates with them hosting the divisional tournament May 15-17.
