The Troy Trojans continue to search for their first win of the season after falling 13-3 to Bigfork on Thursday in a road matchup marked by big innings by the Vikings.

Bigfork broke a scoreless tie with a five-run third inning and added two more runs in the fourth, three in the fifth, and sealed the game with another three-run frame in the sixth, ending the contest early via the 10-run rule.

Troy, now 0-5 on the year, managed to get on the board in the fourth and fifth innings. Cooper Carsley drove in a run and the Trojans got an RBI from Gunnar Fisher and Tommy Guinard in the fifth to bring the Trojans within striking distance at 8-3.

But Bigfork quickly shut the door.

Grady Campbell led the Vikings both on the mound and at the plate. He tossed 3 2/3 no-hit innings, allowing two earned runs but striking out five and limiting Troy’s opportunities. At the plate, Campbell also contributed an RBI triple to extend Bigfork’s lead.

The Vikings’ lineup was balanced throughout the contest, with eight players registering hits. Mason Lewis drove in two runs, while Holland Jantzen and Ryder Hamilton each recorded extra-base hits to keep Bigfork’s offense rolling. Hamilton tripled in the fifth, while Jantzen added a double in the same frame.

On the mound, Campbell gave way to Liam Benson and Hayden Mayer, with Mayer closing the final 2 1/3 innings, striking out four and allowing just one run on three hits.

Troy struggled to generate consistent offense, finishing with just three hits. Carson Orr, Carsley, and Guinard each collected singles for the Trojans, while defensive miscues and eight team errors hampered their chances.

Despite the loss, Troy showed flashes of resilience in the middle innings and will look to build on that momentum as they continue their schedule.
