Troy falls to Ronan on the road, drops to 0-4
Despite a strong outing at the plate from Carson Orr, the Troy Trojans were unable to hold off a surging Ronan offense, falling 13-3 in six innings Thursday, April 10.
Troy opened the game with a run in the first, but Ronan quickly responded with a pair of early runs and then pulled away with a five-run fifth and five more in the sixth to end the game by mercy rule.
Orr was a bright spot for Troy, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate and collecting all three of the Trojans' hits in the contest. The rest of the lineup struggled to solve Ronan starter Liam Wills, who was dominant over 5 1/3 innings. Wills allowed just two hits, surrendered no earned runs, and struck out 14 before handing the ball off to reliever Kanyon Mock, who closed the door with two outs in the sixth.
