Troy softball powers past Bonners Ferry, improves to 3-0
The Troy Trojans continued their red-hot start to the softball season Saturday with a 17-9 win over Bonners Ferry on the road in Idaho, improving to 3-0 and showcasing a powerful offense that has now tallied 47 runs in just three games.
Troy wasted no time putting pressure on Bonners Ferry’s defense, scoring three runs in each of the first two innings to take a 6-0 lead. After Bonners Ferry cut the deficit to one with a five-run third, the Trojans responded immediately with four runs in the fourth to regain control.
The Trojans collected 14 hits in the win, led by Ellie Borgmann, who went 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Halle Wallace and Kirsti Jellesed both chipped in with two hits apiece, with Wallace driving in four runs. Ellah Wallace also had a strong day at the plate, finishing 2-for-5 with an RBI.
