Late-inning rally lifts Libby over AA Flathead, 7-5
The Libby Lady Loggers showed some early season horsepower in a thrilling 7-5 comeback win over Class AA Flathead on Tuesday, scoring five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to stun the Bravettes and improve to 2-1 on the season.
Class A Libby, playing up a division, erupted in the seventh to erase a 5-2 deficit. Dakota Allen sparked the late-inning rally with a three-run homer — part of a big day at the plate where she went 2-for-4 with a double as well. Leah Rusdal also chipped in offensively, smacking a triple and going 1-for-3.
Libby opened the game with a run in the first inning before Flathead tied things up in the third. After trading runs, Flathead surged ahead with three runs in the fifth, capitalizing on a few defensive miscues by the Loggers. But Libby stayed composed, and the game turned in the seventh.
