The law roundup is compiled from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office incident log from Sept. 6 to Sept. 13. It is not meant to serve as an exhaustive account.

Sept. 6

Several first responders went to a traffic crash with injuries in the 4300 block of Lake Creek Road, Troy. 

Talon Springer was arrested on a warrant in the 1000 block of U.S. 93 North. According to a story on kxlf.com, Springer was wanted for sexual intercourse without consent in the Butte area.

A Halo Drive, Troy resident reported being scammed.

A man with mental health issues made an unrealistic report in the 900 block of East Lincoln Boulevard, Libby.

A deputy responded to a threatening call on Airstrip Road, Libby.

A woman reported someone shooting at her house, but no damage was found in the 600 block of Sinclair Ave., Eureka.

Half a dozen officers from the city and county responded to a call about a person involved in suspicious activity in the 700 block of Louisiana Ave., Libby.

Sept. 7

An officer responded to a noise complaint at 4 a.m. in the 400 block of First Avenue East, Eureka. The officer gave the small group of people a warning for noise.

A deputy investigated a report of a partner/family member assault in the 1200 block of Second Avenue East, Eureka. The case is pending review in the county attorney’s office.

Someone found a bicycle in the 100 block of Norman Ave., Libby.

A person was reported missing from Reece Court, Libby. Multiple officers looked into it.

A DUI offense was responded to by four officers on Farm to Market Road, Libby.

The 1300 block of Minnesota Ave., Libby, was the location of a investigation after someone reported the theft of beer.

Multiple officers responded to the 900 block of Louisiana Ave., Libby, following a report of a suspicious person harassing customers.

A man was arrested for being a public nuisance in the 200 block of W. 9th St., Libby after a caller reported someone acting disorderly.

Sept. 8

A deputy investigated a report of two men hitting golf balls across the river, nearly hitting people on the other side. When officers spoke to the men, they learned one had a warrant for his arrest and took him into custody.

Three deputies responded to an assault in the 400 block of Parmenter Drive, Libby.

A detention officer was assaulted by an inmate.

A man reported the theft of money and a fish finder in the 4100 block of Highway 37, Libby.

Someone called to report an unknown device using their internet in the 300 block of Woodland Heights. The person changed the password on the router.

A person was reported missing in the 500 block of Osloski Road, Eureka.

Sept. 9

The chief responded to Libby High School to investigate an assault.

Three officers reported to the 100 block of Highwood Drive, Libby, for a possibly suicidal person. The man indicated he was not suicidal.

A theft report came out of Madden Lake Road, Rexford.

A Troy parent asked for a welfare check on an adult son who went camping. A deputy looked into it and determined the son had already returned home.

A juvenile problem was reported in the 31700 block of South Fork Pipe Creek Road, Libby.

A trio of deputies responded to the 200 block of Avenue B, Libby, for feuding neighbors.

Sept. 10

A person called and wanted to talk to a deputy after her husband allegedly threatened to take the kids from her.

A Libby resident sought a welfare check on an elderly man. The deputy found the man and determined he was OK.

An assault with a weapon report was made in the 700 block of Louisiana Ave., Libby. Two officers responded.

Sept. 11

Another request for a welfare check was made for a man at a trailer court on Highway 37. The man was not at home, but the manager said she had spoken with him and everything seemed fine.

A juvenile was reported as a runaway from a Conifer Road, Libby, residence.

A person living on Lake Creek Road reported a trailer and water tank being stolen. An investigation determined they were borrowed by a family member.

A deputy investigated a report of a young man trespassing on private property and possibly using a 4-wheeler without permission in the 100 block of St. Regis Road, Troy.

Two officers responded a residence on Haven Hill Lane, Troy, after dispatch got a call about a possible order of protection violation.

Sept. 12

A deputy responded to a call in the 34500 block of U.S. 2 for landlord-tenant issues.

The chief again responded to the high school for an assault call.

Multiple officers responded to a location on Billadeau Road, Libby, for a welfare check on a mental subject.

Someone reported dangerous driving behavior in the 400 block of Dome Mountain Ave., Libby.

A deputy responded to the 400 block of Border Lane, Rexford, after a child crashed a vehicle into a garage. There were no injuries reported.

Two officers handled a call about a underage party at N. Third St., and E. Spokane Ave., Troy.

Two deputies dealt with a criminal mischief matter in the 500 block of California Ave., Libby.

Three officers responded to the 300 block of U.S. 93 North for a report of an elderly man brandishing a knife. It was de-escalated and the result of a misunderstanding.
