In last week’s action, the Libby boys and girls varsity soccer teams each tied Thompson Falls-Plains while both fell to Whitefish at J. Neils Memorial Park.

Sept. 12, the Libby girls led 3-0 before Thompson Falls-Plains rallied for a 3-3 tie. In the boys game, Libby led 1-0, but the visitors scored late in the second half to forge the deadlock.

Saturday, the Logger boys squad gave Whitefish all it could handle in a 3-2 defeat. The Bulldogs led 2-0 at halftime, but Kale Hall, off an assist by Dylan Warner, cut the lead in half.

A Whitefish goal in the 75th minute made it 3-1. In stoppage time, Nolan Morris scored for the Loggers.

In the girls game against Whitefish, the Bulldogs won, 4-0, scoring two goals in each half.

Whitefish outshot Libby, 24-4. Lady Logger keeper Maura Mesenbrink had 19 saves.

Thursday, Libby played at Columbia Falls and at Bigfork Saturday.

Libby doesn’t play at home until Thursday, Oct. 3, when Columbia Falls comes to town. The boys play at 4 p.m. and the girls at 6 p.m.
