Libby volleyball falls to Eureka in three sets

The Libby Loggers volleyball team opened its regular season at home Tuesday, Sept. 3, and fell in three sets to the Eureka Lions.

In the first set, Eureka jumped out to an 11-3 lead before claiming a 25-13 win.

The Lady Loggers were more competitive in the next two sets. In the second, Libby led 6-4 and 9-8 before Eureka used a 8-3 run to build a 16-12 lead.

Libby called timeout and managed to keep the deficit between three and six points before Eureka won, 25-20.

The third set was tied at 11-11 before Eureka took control with a 7-1 spurt. The Lady Lions went on to win, 25-15.

Libby played at Columbia Falls Tuesday evening and will host Whitefish Thursday and Frenchtown Saturday.
