Loggers win defensive battle over Browning, 16-7
Lousy weather in Browning kept scoring to a minimum, but the Libby Loggers football team scored on offense and defense to emerge 16-7 winners over the Indians.
Joel Goodman’s 22-yard TD in the second quarter put the Loggers (3-5) on the board. Goodman also caught the conversion pass from quarterback Tristan Andersen to make it 8-0.
The Indians answered with a 35-yard TD run by Pita Fish and Jorrian Snow’s PAT kick trimmed the Libby lead to 8-7.
But Aidan Rose’s 60-yard interception return for a TD gave the Loggers some breathing room. Ian Thom caught the conversion pass Andersen to make it 16-7.
Thom led the Loggers in rushing with 75 yards on 18 carries while Goodman added 71 yards on 12 runs. Andersen hit 4 of 10 passes for 24 yards.
The Loggers will conclude the regular season by hosting Dillon at 7 p.m. Friday. Senior Night festivities will be held.
